Why should I book an appointment with a nutritional expert?

There is a lot of information available on nutrition and it can be overwhelming, conflicting and confusing. Nutritional experts give guidance on food, lifestyle and supplements that are specific to your body and requirements. Many are specialists in their field. Changing habits is easier with professional support and the experts work with you to reach your health goals.

Who are the panel of nutritional experts?

All listed experts have UK recognised qualifications and a minimum of 2 years experience working with clients. They are insured and registered with professional bodies. These bodies lay out the high standards that our experts must meet.

How can I choose a suitable expert?

All experts have listings in our directory showing their areas of focus, a short biography and their availability in order for you to make an informed choice.

Can I work with a nutritional expert if I am being treated by a doctor?

Yes. Your expert may suggest you speak with your doctor about your appointment or a specific concern. They may sometimes, with your permission, write to your doctor on your behalf.

How long are the appointments?

Initial consultations run up to 90 minutes in length and follow up appointments are up to 1 hour.

What length session should I book?

If it is your first consultation with a nutritional therapist, the "initial" consultation should be selected. For this appointment you will be asked to complete a pre-consultation health questionnaire that gives your expert more detailed information about your health status and goals. This longer appointment is also important if you are dealing with ongoing health concerns, which often require more time to explore in order for your expert to understand more about your health history and the potential underlying factors that might be contributing to your symptoms. For follow on appointments with the same practitioner, the "Follow up" consultation should be booked.

How much does a consultation cost?

The initial consultation costs £120 and follow up consultations are £85.

Where do the appointments take place?

The appointments take place online, over video, in a secure and confidential space, so that you can join from anywhere at the arranged time. This gives you access to the top experts regardless of where they are located.

How do I pay for an appointment?

Secure payments are made online at the time of booking using a payment card, credit card or paypal.

What happens before a session?

Before the first session you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire online, to provide relevant details about you and your goals. The questionnaire covers health goals, diagnosed conditions, symptoms, medications, supplements, as well as diet and lifestyle choices.

What happens during a session?

In the first session, you will discuss your goals and health. The expert will make notes and you may take your own notes. They will make recommendations which may include diet changes, lifestyle changes and supplements to consider as well as suggest health tests.

What do I receive at the end of a session?

At the end of the session you will receive a comprehensive nutrition and lifestyle programme that may include dietary, lifestyle and nutritional supplement recommendations and in some cases, guidance on more advanced diagnostic testing that may help to provide more clarity when seeking root cause resolution. Any further sessions will monitor your progress, review goals, amend the plans and provide support to change habits.

How many sessions will I need?

That will depend on your particular goals, the pace of change suited to you and your individual progress.

When are nutritional experts available?

An experts availability is accessable at the time of booking. The Vitaminology calendar will show the dates and times that the expert is available.

What happens if I change my mind or cannot make the appointment scheduled?

You may cancel or rearrange your appointment online and free of charge with at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations or reschedulings made within 24 hours of the appointment carry a 50% charge.
